Aside from perhaps peanut butter and jelly, is there any more iconic duo than flowers and Mother's Day? Seriously, it's the perfect go-to gift. Flowers give us so much, just like the important women in our life, so gifting them to these incredible ladies just makes sense. But sometimes you want to go the extra mile and go beyond a simple bouquet.

Orchids are one of those gifts that elevates a moment. They're elegant, long-lasting (if you take care of them properly-more on that in a minute) and a little more special than your standard arrangement. Plus, with their sculptural blooms and sleek look, orchids add beauty to just about any space, so it's kind of like gifting someone a little everyday luxury.

This year, Westerlay Orchids debuted two new designs that are basically Mother's Day in a pot. There's the Pirouette, which has this graceful, almost dance-like look that feels artsy and modern, while the Mother & Child arrangement is just sweet beyond words.

Where to Buy the Westerlay Orchids Mother & Child Arrangement

The adorable Westerlay Orchids Mother & Child arrangement isn't everywhere, so you're likely to only spot it in select states like Arizona, California, Louisiana, Nevada, New Mexico and Texas. However, the good news is there are still plenty of places within those states to track one down.

Depending on where you live, you might find them at familiar spots like Aldi, Target, Trader Joe's, Albertsons, Safeway or Kroger, among other stores. So while it may feel a little exclusive, there's a solid chance one is blooming somewhere nearby. And you can always double check the nursery's complete list of retail partners to see if maybe, just maybe, this beauty is in a store near you (and in one of the states not listed above).

How to Care for Orchids So They Thrive

Toine Overgaag, president of Westerlay Orchids, offers up some stellar advice on how to help your orchid survive and thrive.

"Here's a surefire way to water your orchid to make sure it drinks just the amount it wants and needs: Place the orchid in a watertight container, pour water onto the bark, and let the water fill the container to the halfway mark," Overgaag says. "Then, let the orchid soak for at least 5 minutes. The orchid can soak for 10-15 mins if it is very dry. Remove the orchid from the water and allow it to drain. Pour out the water from the container. Return the orchid to the decorative pot and enjoy."

He also suggests staying on top of pruning by regularly trimming dead or yellowing leaves or dead flowers so the plant's energy can stay focused on new growth. On top of that, orchids prefer a ton of indirect sunlight, so set them up for success in a spot that offers plenty of that.
