A social media clip has gone viral of former New York Knicks guard Allan Houston shooting in an empty arena, hitting threes like it's 1999. Despite being 55 years old, Houston still has the same shooting stroke and form as he did in his playing days.

In fact, Houston was known for his silky smooth jumper in his heyday. The balance, coordination, and high release make it a sight to behold. Even former NBA player Michael Redd, a great shooter in his own right, commented glowingly about Houston in the video.

Post retirement, Houston has kept himself in great shape. While many athletes let themselves go, he maintains the same lean physique he always has. As clichéd as it sounds, he does look like he can go out there and still play.

Houston currently serves as the General Manager of the Westchester Knicks, the G-League squad under the New York Knicks. You can find him sitting courtside at nearly every Knicks game.

Houston joined Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns at the 2026 NBA All-Star game, where the trio won the Kia Shooting Stars competition.

In his career, the two-time All-Star averaged 17.3 points per game, led the Knicks to the NBA Finals in 1999, and won an Olympic gold medal in 2000. He shot 40% on 3pt field goals for his career, in an era where the three ball was not a major part of NBA offenses. In the modern era, he would be a lethal shooter and major asset to any team. He was truly ahead of his time.

It's comforting to know that he still loves the game, and likes to get shots up in his spare time. A testament to his dedication and passion for the sport, Allan Houston proves that a truly elite shooting stroke is forever.
