Golden Retriever Gets Freshly Groomed and Feels Totally Betrayed
Sometimes looking good isn't enough to make you feel good. That's definitely the case with Zebby, the funny Golden Retriever. Though the freshly coiffed canine appears as clean and put-together as possible, he seems to be feeling rather glum.
In a hilarious dog video on TikTok, we meet Zebby, who looks so dapper in a blue bandana. But we're guessing the groomer wasn't on Zebby's agenda for the day, and now he refuses to hide his feelings of betrayal. "My dramatic Golden Retriever after the groomer," Zebby's family writes.
While his fur might be billowing in the breeze, he's not enjoying a minute of it. Aw, poor pup. He's got that pout down pat for sure.
We're wondering if maybe when Zebby got in the car, he had visions of frolicking in the dog park or perhaps picking up a pup cup. A visit to the groomer was probably the last place he wanted to go. Or, second to last, more likely. A trip to the vet is no doubt the least favorite for pets.

Viewers could feel Zebby's annoyance through their screens.
"He said I'm handsome, but I'm not happy," one person said.
"You have no idea what I just went through ," another imagined Zebby's inner monologue.
"He's like, 'Don't talk to me,'" a third person joked.
But is it a joke? Look how Zebby leans against the seat as if to say, "This was all too much for me! I'm gonna need a minute."

Zebby's reaction isn't uncommon.
"The silent treatment the whole way home. Every time," another pet parent wrote.

Why Grooming Is Stressful for Some Dogs
While some humans may enjoy a trip to the salon, most dogs dread it. Why?
For many pups, a visit to the groomer can spark feelings of sensory overload. The office is a different environment, one that's typically filled with plenty of scents and other (sometimes anxious) pups. If they've had an unpleasant experience in the past, chances are, they remember it and don't want to be there.
Dogs may also have separation anxiety as parents leave them with someone they don't know too well.
Choosing the right groomer can make all the difference. You can also pair a trip to the groomer with something your dog does enjoy, like a treat or a trip to the park.
