This Easy DIY Oyster Wreath Is the Perfect Outdoor Decor Item for Summer
If you aren't quite over coastal summer DIYs and a home that looks like you live on the beach, this DIY oyster wreath may just be the perfect craft for you.
To get started, all you really need is some glue, oyster shells (of course) and a wooden ring.
Crafter Jessica Poss (@jessicaposs) recently shared this adorable and easy craft in a TikTok video. It's perfect for those already shopping and decorating for a coastal summer, those who love kitschy decor items or those who simply want a fun weekend activity.

How To Make It
To get started, you either want to get bulk faux oyster shells from a local craft store, or you could even use different types of shells you've collected over the years.
Then, you can paint gold along the rims of the shells and spray them with a glossy, clear acrylic seal.
Next, take a 6-inch or so wooden wreath ring and start gluing and arranging your shells along the rim. Before gluing the shells down, you could also spray paint the ring white to cover any gaps from the shells for a more cohesive look.
Like the shells, these rings can be found at your local craft store for relatively cheap.
Once everything is dry, you can hang it as-is or add some extra accessories to the wreath, like a pretty blue ribbon bow like Poss does, or even glue on little pearls around and in the different shells. It's totally customizable for the vibe you want.

What I love about this DIY is that it can be used outdoors or indoors, as seasonal summertime decor or as a year-round aesthetic touch in your space. Not only is it completely creative and whimsical, but it also gives you a fun and affordable craft at the same time.
