Dog Makes Bad Decision-Laughter at Moment She Learns ‘Consequences'

A soaked dog learning the consequences of his actions has melted hearts across the internet.

The video, posted by TikTok user @misscarmykins, has racked up 641,100 likes and more than 4 million views on the app.

It shows Carmy-an Australian cattle dog,pit bull, and boxer mix-standing indoors wrapped tightly in a towel, her fur still wet, ears pinned back and head lowered as if weighed down by embarrassment. The on‑screen text reads: "Ran outside in the pouring rain. We're actively learning about the consequences of actions."

The caption driving the moment home adds: "She said please do not look at me right now."

Viewers were quick to project very human emotions onto Carmy's expression, flooding the comments with jokes, mock legal defenses, and pop‑culture references.

"Heaven forbid a girl wants to release her inhibitions and feel the rain on her skin," wrote user K.C., a nod to Natasha Bedingfield's 2004 hit "Unwritten," whose lyrics include the line "Feel the rain on your skin," often used online to humorously justify impulsive choices.

Others questioned the expectations placed on Carmy in the first place.

"Did she go to meteorologist school?? How is she supposed to know it was raining?!" commented Allison.

"She definitely knows she exists," added Haley Riley.

Brand‑named accounts and users alike piled in with mock‑dramatic reactions.

"EVERYONE MAKES MISTAKES," wrote Walmart.

"Your honor she simply misread the weather," Anthropologie added.

"Don't internet me mother, I'm ashamed," another user joked.

Some focused on Carmy's expression.

"The regret is written all over her little face," commented Samsung US.

"This is a very serious moment of self‑reflection," Microsoft 365 wrote.

Others leaned fully into the absurdity.

"Why didn't anyone tell her the rain was gonna be wet?" asked Bern's.

"The sun better come out right now," wrote YouTube.

"She's just a burrito," added Jen, referencing the towel‑wrapped pup's snug appearance.

While Carmy's moment of rain‑soaked remorse struck viewers as purely comedic, animal welfare experts say there are a few practical things pet owners should do after a dog gets drenched.

According to the American Kennel Club, it's best to dry dogs thoroughly after they've been soaked, as lingering moisture can cause discomfort, chills, skin irritation, and that unmistakable "wet dog" smell. Owners are advised to towel‑dry first and, if needed, use a pet‑safe dryer on a low setting-especially for dogs with thicker coats-to help prevent bacterial or yeast buildup on the skin.
