‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!' Names Celebrity Guest Hosts for Summer
Jimmy Kimmel is handing over the reigns of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” once again, with a slate of celebrity guest hosts set to fill in during his annual summer hiatus.
In a new promo, ABC announced that returning guest hosts Anthony Anderson, Tiffany Haddish and Jelly Roll will be joined by first-time guest hosts Colman Domingo and Ike Barinholtz.
New episodes of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” will return on July 6, with Haddish, 46, taking over hosting duties, according to a press release from ABC.
The network has yet to confirm the schedule for the other guest hosts, though Anderson, 55, previously said that he would host the week of August 10 during an April appearance on the late night show.
The “black-ish” star is Kimmel’s most frequent guest host. He has previously hosted the show 24 times.
During Domingo’s appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” last week, he shared a toast with Kimmel, 58, and the host’s sidekick Guillermo Rodriguez to celebrate his upcoming guest-host stint the week of July 20.
"Since you're here, I figured maybe we would have a little toast," Kimmel shared. "You and Guillermo are going to be working very closely together."
"Congratulations on your film with Steven Spielberg. Avenging Zendaya. Jumping out of a plane for the first time. Rappelling down the side of a mountain," he added. "Am I forgetting anything? Oh, hosting this show, the biggest thing."
Kimmel began taking summer breaks in 2020 and previously tapped guest hosts including: Ryan Reynolds, Jennifer Lawrence, Martin Short, Hugh Jackman, Chelsea Handler, Dana Carvey, Sean Hayes, Jeff Goldblum, Nikki Glaser, Kerry Washington, Simu Liu, David Alan Grier, RuPaul, Joel McHale, Alan Cumming, Rob McElhenney, George Lopez, Lamorne Morris and Nicole Byer.
"Jimmy Kimmel Live!" airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. ET on ABC and streams the next day on Hulu.
