Ted Danson Revealed a Health Scare on His Podcast

"The last thing that kind of hit me that was very liberating was I had a bit of a health scare," he shared. "I'm totally fine, but it was like, 'Oh, well, that's real.'"

Danson continued, "And it was humbling. And, 'Oh, mortality is uh it's the real deal, you know. It's not just a rumor. Ted Danson doesn't get a free pass. Love his work, but...' And I hadn't f--ked up in some way. So, I couldn't go, 'Oh, Ted.'"

Although Danson didn't share what health issue he faced, he called the incident "very humbling" and "the best thing that could have happened to me."

"I'm doing some things differently," he shared, adding, "I am meditating now twice a day with Mary," of his wife, Mary Steenburgen.

Danson called meditation "the biggest gift of all," as it allows him to "be curious about other people." He explained, "You can listen, and you can be supportive, caring. You can witness them, and I do believe that that's the rest of my life is to be curious and listen. That's the best thing I can offer."

What Health Conditions Does Ted Danson Have?

It's unclear what Danson's recent "medical scare" was. Previously, however, the Three Men and a Little Lady star opened up about his struggle with the autoimmune condition.

"Your self-confidence gets deflated," he told KatieCouric.com in 2014, of the chronic skin condition. "I would make up these silly excuses not to do certain activities because I was embarrassed."
