This Dr Pepper Dessert Is Returning Just in Time for Summer
The perfect summer treat has been brought back to a fan-favorite restaurant for a limited time. Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers is offering the Dr Pepper Frost at participating locations.
The treat returns from May 6 to July 7 at participating locations.
PR Newswire revealed the news of the Dr Pepper Frost return on April 29. The frozen treat will be available in restaurants, via the drive-thru, and in the mobile app for pickup or delivery orders.
The Freddy's Dr. Pepper Frost combines the restaurant's trademark vanilla frozen custard with Dr Pepper and tops it with whipped cream.
Freddy's Senior Director of Menu Strategy & Innovation, Rick Petralia, noted, "We first offered the Dr Pepper Frost last summer and it became an instant hit."
In addition to bringing the Dr Pepper Frost back until early July, Freddy's will keep the Steakburger Taco on the menu for a bit longer, as well.
The Steakburger Taco was introduced by Freddy's in January, and fans have begged for it to be available longer.
In a Snackwire Instagram post highlighting new fast food items, several followers gushed over the Freddy's news in the comment section.
"Oh yum the Freddy's Dr Pepper Frost and the Steakburger Taco look amazing," one follower wrote.
Another Instagram user declared, "I'm so happy Freddy's brought back the Dr Pepper frost."
In 2025, the Freddy's Dr Pepper Frost was available from July 9 to August 26.
During the initial run of the Freddy's Dr Pepper Frost, one fan on X, formerly Twitter, raved over it. "Freddy's now has a Dr Pepper frost and it's so good I hope they never get rid of it," they tweeted.
The return of the Freddy's Float is just the latest in a string of popular Dr Pepper releases.
Dr Pepper recently announced that it has developed merchandise to go with its Creamy Coconut and Summer Americana flavors. In addition, over the past few months, the brand has also released collaborations with Blue Bell and Dippin' Dots, as well as new Freeze Pops.
