Tri-City 5, Spokane 5 (mid-9th): The Dust Devils flashed some leather to work around a leadoff single and keep the game tied.

First baseman Miguel De Leon made a diving attempt at a popped up bunt, knocking it down so catcher Tom Murphy picked it up and threw out the lead runner at second for the rare 3-2-6 force out.

Pitcher Matt Flemer then induced a 6-4-3 double play to end the inning.

Totals: 0 runs on 1 hit with 0 errors and 0 left on base.

Pitch count: Flemer 8 balls, 15 strikes, 23 total.

Tri-City 5, Spokane 5 (end 8th): The Dust Devils wasted a golden opportunity in the bottom of the eighth, as Zach Osborne grounded into a 6-4-3 double play with the bases loaded and one out.

Francisco Sosa singled leading off and after a Jarod Berggren sacrifice bunt, Anthony Aguilera singled to center but third base coach/manager Fred Ocasio decided to hold Sosa at third. After a bunt single, Osborne then hit his grounder to Gabriel Roa who flipped to second baseman Cam Schiller, who's throw to first barely beat a sliding Osborne to get out of the jam.

Pitch count: Blackwell, 14 balls, 24 strikes, 38 total; Alec Asher 1 ball, 6 strikes, 7 total.

Tri-City 5, Spokane 5 (mid-8th): Huge relief job by Matt Flemer, who entered with the bases loaded and one out and Royce Bolinger out the plate. Flemer induced pop outs by Bolinger (3-for-3 with 2 doubles, a single and 3 RBIs) and Ryan Rua to escape the jam.

Spokane 4, Tri-City 2 (mid-5th): Another error costs the Dust Devils a run.

Pitch count: De Los Santos, 21 balls, 33 strikes, 54 total.

Spokane 3, Tri-City 2 (mid-4th): A tough break for Tri-City starter Ben Hughes in the fourth, as he appeared to have struck out Hirotoshi Onaka on a nasty 2-2 curve ball. The umpire ruled it a ball, however, and Onaka singled the next pitch to center to break the tie.

Spokane 2, Tri-City 0 (end-2nd): The Dust Devils offense is retired in order, though Spokane centerfielder Hirotoshi Onaka was a big part why.

Totals: 0 runs on 0 hits with 0 errors and 0 left on base.

Pitch count: De Los Santos, 6 balls, 10 strikes, 16 pitches.
