The Tri-City Americans wrapped the U.S. Division title and first place in the Western Conference for the playoffs Friday with a 4-1 win over Everett.
Now, the Americans are first, Kamloops is second, Portland is third and Vancouver, with a 5-4 OT win over Kelowna, coupled with Spokane's 4-3 loss to Seattle, is fourth. Spokane is fifth and Kelowna is sixth.
This is what we know.
Prince George is out of the playoff picture.
Portland will play Kelowna.
Vancouver will play Spokane.
What we don't know, is who the Americans will play, and who Kamloops will play.
Victoria is finished and has 55 points, three ahead of Seattle, which has two games left, and three ahead of Everett, which has one game left.
Seattle and Everett are tied with 52 points. The two play each other tonight in Kent. Seattle wins and Everett is done. If Everett wins, Seattle still has a chance, providing they can win at Portland on Sunday. Seattle holds the tie-breaker if they finished tied with points. Two wins, and Seattle can sneak up and finish seventh, putting Victoria eighth.
At this point, just sit back and enjoy the view from the top. And, take a peek at the gallery of photos Rich Dickin put together of Friday's game. We don't get many galleries of the Americans, so enjoy it.
