My head hurts.
I just read yet another column calling for Paul Wulff's firing. This one was written by Adam Lewis of The Daily Evergreen, Washington State's student newspaper.
For almost all of Wulff's tenure, we have read arguments for why Wulff should stay or, mostly, why he should go. He barely got a year in before people were clamoring for him to leave Pullman.
The damage might be done this season. UCLA and Oregon State were the supposed "gimmes" on WSU's schedule, and the Cougs blew them both. Barring miracles of miracles (what do you mean, the Cougs upset Oregon?!), WSU could get one or two more wins this season. I'd like to just finish the year, six-win bowl eligibility be damned, and then figure out whether Wulff fits into the Cougars' plans.
The constant chatter over Wulff's future probably hasn't helped the Cougars over the past few years. Heck, not that my opinion matters, but I've been part of the "Fire Wulff" chorus, too. (Last year's Halloween Eve Massacre in Tempe was enough for me to spew a few choice words on this blog.)
Jeff Tuel's shoulder might be hurting, but given the quarterback's time under the Wulff regime, I'm guessing he also has a bigger migraine than I do. Would you like some Tylenol, Jeff?
