Here's a day-by-day look at what some of our area’s pro baseball players are up to.
April 8 -- Eric O'Flaherty (Walla Walla) pitched 1 2/3 innings of shutout relief for the Atlanta Braves. However, the Chicago Cubs won the game 2-0.
April 9 -- Jake Muyco (Richland) scattered two hits over one inning before shutting down Mississippi and earning the save in the ninth to help Tennessee (Cubs) win 5-4 in Southern League play.
April 9 -- Jorge Reyes (Warden) struck out one in 1 1/3 innings pitched of relief, but Lake Elsinore (Padres) lost 8-2 to High Desert in the California League.
April 11 -- Nyjer Morgan (Walla Walla CC) was 2-for-4 and scored a run to help lead the Washington Nationals over the New York Mets 5-2.
April 11 -- O'Flaherty pitches the final two-thirds of an inning for the Braves, striking out one and giving up one hit in a 6-3 loss to the San Francisco Giants.
April 11 -- Shawn O'Malley (Southridge) was 3-for-4, scored a run, drove in another, and stole two bases as Montgomery (Rays) defeated Mobile 5-4 in Southern League play.
April 12 -- Jason Repko (Hanford) was 2-for-5 with an RBI and run scored, and a stolen base, but Rochester (Twins) lost to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre 6-5 in Triple-A International League play.
April 12 -- Reyes picked up his first win of the season as he started, going 6 2/3 innings, scattering six hits, striking out three and surrendering just two earned runs as Lake Elsinore defeated Lancaster 4-2 in the California League.
April 15 -- O'Flaherty steps in to get one out in the sixth inning as the Braves defeat San Diego 6-2.
April 18 -- Kyle Conley (Richland) was put on the disabled list by Quad Cities, then moved to extended spring training. Conley was hitting .192 after eight games with the Cardinals farm team in the Midwest League.
April 18 -- O'Flaherty pitches a scoreless ninth, getting a strikeout, then he earns the win when Atlanta scores two runs in the bottom of the ninth to beat Colorado 4-3.
