If you haven’t seen the Hanford girls basketball team play yet this season, you are missing out.
Sure, the Falcons aren’t loaded with talent at nearly every position like Chiawana, Kamiakin and Richland.
But Hanford does have one of the best young players in the Tri-Cities in Colette Gall.
The freshman post is not just a big body, she has fantastic footwork and some really quality low-post moves. I watched her torch Kennewick for 21 points Friday in her first playoff game. The fun thing about watching Gall is her ability to work through double teams and not be too bothered by quicker, more athletic posts. She also has a decent mid-range jumper and shoots free throws pretty well.

As her coach Evan Woodward told me Friday, "She isn't the most athletic, but she makes up for it with a quick first step. She is very intelligent."
If she keeps working hard and improving there is no reason she won’t be signing a national letter of intent in three years.
Hanford is at Eastmont tonight but is guaranteed a game in the Tri-Cities next weekend either at home or at Kamiakin. If you were smart, you’d be sure and find time to get out and watch her play.
