The Tri-City Americans will put on their aprons and grab their spatulas today when they create gingerbread houses for charity at the U.S. Cellular store on Road 68 in Pasco.
Construction begins at 3 p.m. The houses will be auctioned off with the proceeds going to the Boys & Girls Club.
I have seen two and three story gingerbread houses with elaborate features and perfectly frosted roofs. I do not think I will see any of those today.
The guys generally eat half of what they are supposed to put on their houses, then steal from others to finish their project.

The Americans signed two list prospects, 17-year-olds Brennen Bosovich and Tyson Dallman, to standard WHL players contracts. Bosovich, a 5-8 150-pound forward from Martensville, Saskatchewan, is playing with the Prince Albert Mintos of the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey league.
The 6-0 165-pound Dallman, who is a teammate of Bosovich on the Mintos, has totaled seven goals and 16 points in 12 games. The Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, native is the son of former WHL forward Rod Dallman.
Both players will make a special trip to Kennewick next week, where they will practice with the team and will participate in the home-and-home doubleheader with Seattle over the weekend.

"It was hard to come up with my decision," the 19-year old said in a team release. "My family, the team and I came to this point after talking to the doctors and neurologists. We realized it will be best for my future to retire from hockey."

I have today through Monday off, which gives me a bit of time to start getting the Christmas decorations out and up. To Mr. Movie and his holiday movies — not any version of A Christmas Carol will do. It has to be the classic 1951 black and white version with Alastair Sim. Nothing else can compare. As a movie critic, you should know this.
