PASCO — After having its offense stall for most of the game, Chiawana put together a pair of impressive drives Saturday afternoon in a 4A state quarterfinal with Ferris.
Unfortunately for the Riverhawks, only one of those drives produced points, resulting in a 13-7 loss to the Saxons at Edgar Brown Stadium.
Chiawana (10-1) drove to the Ferris 15 with 40 seconds to play but came up empty, ending the benchmark season for the second-year program.
Jordan Downing finished with 129 yards on 30 carries to spark the ’Hawks’ offense. But they failed to take advantage of two turnovers and four Ferris fumbles.
