The Russians are coming

The WHL announced the rosters for the upcoming Subway Series against Team Russia, and I'm sad to say the Americans have just one player nominated to play — Brendan Shinnimin. Shinny also played in this series last year.

After winning the U.S. Division title, the Western Conference title and playing for the WHL title, I would have thought the Ams would have gotten a couple of more invites to the party. Maybe goalie Drew Owsley, MVP of the Western Conference playoffs. Maybe Adam Hughesman, who is on a tear to start the season. Maybe I'm way off base.

I just think they could share the wealth a bit. Portland has four players, Saskatoon has three. Poor Lethbridge has none, so I guess I shouldn't complain too much.

Here are your Subway Series rosters. Players with a * next to their name will play in both games.
