What does it say about Scott Beerer that the guy can go 2-for-4 against Salem-Keizer tonight and LOWER his season average to .588?
I would love to see him stay in Tri-City all year just to see how many team records he could break, but I have to admit he deserves to get the heck out of here as fast as possible. He's absolutely tearing this league up.
And it's not all home runs and doubles to the gap. He went 2-for-3 against Boise on Friday, and both hits were opposite-field singles. Reminded me of Hall-of-Famer Tony Gwynn, who would use his bat like a surgeon, rapping anything on the outside part of the plate through the 5.5 hole.
If you haven't seen Beerer yet, you'd better hurry. He will be promoted soon, and he could be one of the Rockies' truly inspirational stories in the next few years.
