Moses Lake's Thompson leads area entrants at Boston Marathon

BOSTON — Moses Lake’s Brendan Thompson was the Mid-Columbia’s highest placingfinisher in the 113th running of the Boston Marathon on Monday.

Thompson, 22, finished 2,172nd overall with a time of 3 hours, 6 minutes and45 seconds.

Othello’s Joel Garza, 23, finished in 3:09:40 to place 2,675th overall.

The Mid-Columbia's oldest finisher was Ray Warner, a 70-year-old from Benton City, whocompleted the marathon in 4:26:43.
