Edder Delgado’s pass found Claros, who took a couple of steps inside the area and blasted a shot past goalkeeper Dagoberto Portillo. El Salvador players disputed the goal with referee Jair Marrufo, insisting Claros was offside on the play.
Haiti briefly led Group B after beating Trinidad and Tobago, 2-0, earlier Friday.
Jean Maurice’s shot near the 6-yard box beat Trinidad and Tobago goalkeeper Jan Williams in the 16th minute. Maurice scored again in the 52nd minute.
