Shea Theodore and Nick Holowko each had a goal and an assist as the Seattle Thunderbirds beat the Tri-City Americans 4-0 on Friday in the opening game of the Everett Preseason Tournament.
Nolan Volcan scored just 3:24 into the game to give Seattle a 1-0 lead after the first period. It would be the only goal Eric Comrie would give up. Comrie finished with 16 saves in 31 minutes of work.
Theodore and Ethan Bear scored in the second period for the Thunderbirds, who took a 3-0 lead into the third. Seattle closed out the scoring with an empty-net goal by Holowko with 38 seconds left in the game.
Evan Sarthou, who replaced Comrie, had 15 saves as Seattle outshot the Americans 35-20.
Tri-City plays Portland at 11:30 a.m. today at Comcast Arena.
