Americans pound Victoria 6-2

Justin Feser and Brendan Shinnimin each scored two goals, while goalie Ty Rimmer stopped 30 of 32 shots, as the Tri-City Americans defeated the Victoria Royals 6-2 on Tuesday night in Western Hockey League play at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre in Victoria, British Columbia.

Mason Wilgosh scored 6:52 into the game for the Americans, and Feser had his first of the game on a power play at 9:27 for an insurmountable 2-0 lead.

The Ams scored three more goals in the second period on goals from Shinnimin, Tyson Dallman and Feser for a 5-1 lead after two periods.

Shinnimin added his second of the night at 13:51 of the third period.

Feser finished the game with 4 points -- two goals and two assists.

The two teams meet again at 7:05 p.m. today in Victoria.
