EVERETT -- The Tri-City Americans have had their struggles against the Everett Silvertips this season, and Friday night was no different.
Landon Ferraro broke out of a scoring drought, finding the net twice to lead the Silvertips to a 3-2 victory over the Americans, snapping Tri-City's four-game win streak.
The Americans (23-12-1-1, 48 points) are 2-4 against the Silvertips (17-18-2-3, 39 points) this season.
Ferraro hadn't scored in 20 games, but he got back on track at 14:12 of the first period, then added his second of the night on the power play at 8:16 of the third, in what would end up being the game-winner. The last time Ferraro had scored was Oct. 22 at Kelowna.
After Clayton Cumiskey gave Everett a 2-1 lead in the second, Brendan Shinnimin cut into the Silvertips' lead with a goal at 16:46.
With Everett leading 3-1 in the third, Tri-City defenseman Tyler Schmidt notched a power-play goal at 13:27 to make it 3-2.
The Americans found themselves on the penalty kill late in the game and were unable to catch the Silvertips.
Drew Owsley finished with 36 saves for Tri-City.
