EVERETT -- Adam Hughesman scored a pair of first-period goals, but the Tri-City Americans failed to muster any other offense in a 4-2 road loss to the Everett Silvertips on Saturday night.
Hughesman's goals -- giving him 20 for the season -- came after Josh Winquist found the Ams' net just 24 seconds into the contest.
Tri-City responded less than 2 minutes later, when Hughesman connected off assists from Mason Wilgosh and Brendan Shinnimin.
Shinnimin also had a hand in Hughesman's second goal on the power play midway through the first period.

But the Silvertips came out blazing in the third. Tyler Maxwell scored his 24th goal of the season 2:01 into the period with a helping hand from Kellan Tochkin, one of his three assists on the night.
Everett took the lead with a power-play goal at 6:49 and closed out the scoring with an empty-netter in the closing seconds.
