Ams fall to Cougars 8-3 in PG

PRINCE GEORGE, British Columbia -- Sena Acolatse, Charles Inglis and Martin Marincin each scored two goals to lift Prince George to a home win over the Tri-City Americans at CN Centre in British Columbia.

All three scored in the first 12 minutes, 21 seconds as the Cougars jumped out a 4-0 first period lead.

Zach Yuen put the Americans on the board at 18:31 of the first period, but Prince George scored the next three goals to make it 7-1 heading into the third period.

Tri-City (9-2-1-0, 19 points) failed to gain any ground on idle Portland (10-2-0-1, 21) in the U.S. Division, while Prince George (7-5-1-1, 15) remained tied for second with Kamloops (7-6-0-1, 15) in the B.C. Division.

The Americans face the Seattle Thunderbirds are on the road at 7:05 p.m. Tuesday.
