Pepsi Cola Dusters qualify for Legion AA state tournament
The Pepsi Cola Dusters held off the Richland Knights 8-7 on Monday to earn the final berth into the American Legion AA state tournament.
Logan Smith and Tyson Brown each concluded big games at the plate with RBI hits during the Dusters’ four-run sixth inning to break open a tie game. They cashed in every one of those insurance as Richland rallied for three runs in the seventh.
The Dusters, who lost 3-1 and 15-8 to the Walla Walla Bruins in Sunday’s district championship games, open state play Saturday in Lacey.
