Southridge opens strong in Reno

Trenton Nett tossed a one-hitter in the first game and the Southridge bats were alive all afternoon as the Suns swept their first-day games at the Reno Pre-Fourth of July Tournament on Thursday.

Southridge battered Dalaville 11-1 with a barage of doubles, with Trevor Oldham slugging two of the Suns’ five in the game.

They continued the hot hitting in a 12-9 win over North Cal Valley, taking control with a six-run fifth inning. Tate Spviey and Ethan Sanders each drove in a run in the frame, and Bryce Grigg followed with a two-run double.
