Knights AA fall short in comeback bid at Firecracker tourney
The Richland Knights worked hard to erase a 4-0 deficit to the AAA Pocatello (Idaho) Razorbacks in the Firecracker Tournament championship in Boise, but Cory Meyer hit a double in the bottom of the seventh to bring home Braedon Boyer for a 5-4 Pocatello win.
The Knights scored all four of their runs with two outs in the top of the seventh, highlighted by Dylan Wirtzberger’s two-run single to tie things up. Richland had a chance to score more but left the bases loaded to end the seventh.
Dakota Wills added two hits for the Knights, a double-A team.
Austin Haughton pitched six innings for Richland, striking out eight batters.
