Sordahl leads Bandits to CWL sweep
Steven Sordahl had four hits on the day and drove in three runs in the Kennewick Bandits’ 9-2 win that capped a Central Washington League senior Legion sweep over the Apple Valley Packers on Tuesday.
Gerald Hein went 5 2/3 innings for the Bandits, striking out 10 in Game 2.
Kennewick won the opener 5-3, as Larry DeWitt drove in two runs for the Bandits.
Junior Legion>: Bryce Grigg and Ryan Sanders combined for five hits and five RBIs, while Brayton DeVoir and Ethan Sanders each chipped in two hits as the Southridge Bandits (11-1 CWL A) hammered the visiting Hanford Flames 15-3.
Dustin Durflinger had two hits for the Flames (8-4).
Stanfield sweeps Sunnyside Christian: Dylan Grogan drove in four runs for Stanfield during a 15-5 win over Sunnyside Christian and then tossed a complete-game one-hitter in an 8-1 victory. Ryan Bailey added three RBIs for Stanfield in Game 1.
Babe Ruth 13s: Richland scored 11 runs in the 2nd inning on its way in defeating Pasco 12-2 on Tuesday in the Babe Ruth 13s District Tournament in Pasco. Alex Rosales contributed two hits and Jared DeVine pitched a two-hit complete game for Richland. Richland advances to today’s championship game.
Little League 12s: Kirby Robertson struck out nine batters in 4 2/3 innings to lead Richland National to a 4-1 win over West Valley at the Little League 12s All-Stars District tournament Tuesday in Yakima. Ethan Liner had an RBI double to lead Richland, which will play in Friday’s championship at 10:30 a.m.
