Flames improve to 10-5 with sweep of Wenatchee

The Hanford Flames A swept a home-and-home series with Wenatchee earlier this week.

On Tuesday, the Flames beat Wenatchee 5-3 and 4-1 on the road. Isaac Benard went 2-for-4 with a triple and an RBI in the opener, while Sawyer Henry pitched a complete game in the nightcap, allowing one hit and striking out nine.

Wednesday, the Flames (17-13) topped Wenatchee at home, winning 8-3 and 11-3 to improve to 10-5 in Central Washington League play.

Junior Legion:The Hanford Flames won their first two games at the Bomber Bowl tournament in Richland, shutting out the Pasco Sun Devils 10-0 and then edging the Kennewick Phantoms 8-7 in eight innings.

Grant Cowen tossed a complete game against Pasco, giving up just five hits. In Game 2, Trevor Hammitt went 4-for-5 with a double. T.J. Rea led Kennewick with two hits.

The Richland Knights won two games at Bomber Bowl, beating the Kennewick Phantoms 5-4, thanks to RBIs from Chad Miller and Lakota Wills, and then topping the Pasco Rebels 13-5. Kade Musick and Garrett Guffey combined for five hits and two RBIs.

Eastlake Wood Bat Tournament: The Southridge Bandits topped the Kennewick Dusters 7-5 on Jake Kirchoff’s 2-run double in the bottom of the sixth inning, erasing a 5-2 deficit in the process.

The Bandits also played to a 5-5 tie against Eastlake, as Tate Spivey’s three-run double in the eighth tied it up.

Babe Ruth: The Tri-City Badgers topped The Stanfield Baseball Club 4-2 in the first game of a doubleheader Wednesday.

Stanfield won Game 2 12-8 thanks to three RBIs from Ryan Bailey.
