Yakima shuts down Hanford Junior Flames at 'AA' Districts

Jacob Haas shut down the Hanford Flames for seven innings, allowing just a run on four hits to lift the Yakima Beetles to a 7-1 victory at Carlon Park in Selah.

Haas recorded nine strikeouts — many of them looking — and Hanford committed a couple of early errors which led to the Beetles’ 2-0 second inning lead. Yakima tacked on another run in the third and three more in the fourth.

Bryce Logan drove in the Flames’ only run in the bottom of the fifth inning.

Hanford will play at 1 p.m. today in an elimination game, facing Friday night’s winner between Yakima Valley and Richland.
