Walla Walla advances to state Junior Legion title game

Forced to play a second game in the semifinals, the Walla Walla Bruins beat Ferndale 2-1 in Anacortes, earning a spot in today’s Junior Legion state title game.

The Bruins will play Burlington at 1 p.m. at Alton R. Daniels Field.

Burlington ended Hanford’s season by beating the Flames 13-4. Hanford’s Jamie Hopp had two hits.

After dropping their first game of the tournament to Ferndale, the Bruins came back in the nightcap with two runs in the bottom of the first and held on for the win.
