Former Columbia Cup winner Terry Troxell is back in the driver’s seat again, this time in Bob and Kathleen Baker’s UL-8 Numerica Credit Union.
“I took over for Kip (Brown), so all in all it’s going pretty good,” he said. “I feel great.”
Troxell, who made his mark racing in the National Modifed class of inboard boats, is returning back to his roots after several years driving the bigger unlimiteds.
He also appears to be in exceptional health and spirits after suffering a nearly career-ending stroke two seasons ago. Still, Troxell, who last drove the U-13 and U-99 unlimiteds, says he misses the bigger boats.

“Of course I do,” he quipped. “But this is good too.”
Troxell scored a fourth place in heat racing yesterday after being assessed a one-minute penalty for a lane change violation.
