Meadow Springs golf pro named PNW’s top teacher

Meadow Springs Country Club pro Jason Aichele on Thursday was named the Pacific Northwest PGA Teacher of the Year for 2015.

Aichele became the fifth person ever to win the award back-to-back — the region covers Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana and Alaska — and is eligible to become National PGA Teacher of the Year. He added that the president of the PGA told him that winning consecutive regional titles gives him “a really good chance” to win the national award.

It’s the culmination of a big year for Aichele, who has qualified to play in two national championships: the TaylorMade National Championship at Pebble Beach (Calif.) Resort on March 7-10, and the PGA National Championship on June 26-29 at Turning Stone Golf Resort in Vernona, N.Y.
