Richland’s Cole Lorenzo and Drew McCullough tied for eighth Thursday with a 10-over-par 223 at the Washington State Men’s Amateur Championship in Cle Elum.
Lorenzo, who plays at Utah State, shot a 72 in the final round, while McCullough, who plays at University of Wyoming, carded a 73.
Charles Kern of Mercer Island earned medalist honors with a 2-over 215 at Suncadia Resort-Rope Rider.
Kennewick’s Nick Mandell, who plays at Washington State, finished tied for 16th with a 14-over 227. He shot a 75 during the final round.

Richland’s Jeffrey Marcum and Riley Hayfield of Kennewick tied for 26th (18-over 231), while Michael Ciez of Walla Walla and Austin Brown of Kennewick tied for 55th (27-over 240).
• Former Hanford High golfer Ezra Arneson shot a 1-under 71 in the final round of the boys age 16-17 division to finish fifth at the Washington Junior Golf Association State championship in Bremerton and Allyn.
Arneson finished with a three-day total of 219 on the Olympic Course of the Gold Mountain Golf Course.
Sam Warkentin of Bainbridge Island, who led from start to finish, earned medalist honors with a 2-under 213.
West Richland’s Carl Underwood, who shot a 1-under 71 in the second round, finished the third round with an 80 and tied for 14th overall.
In the girls 16-17 division, Pasco’s Jalayne Martinez finished third after carding an 83 in the final round. She finished with an overall score of 240 (83-74-83), three strokes behind medalist Katelann Soth of Covington.
The Cheyenne Sixers pounded out 17 hits and scored 13 runs in the fourth inning to hand the Kennewick Outlaws a 23-5 loss at the American Legion AAA Northwest Regional Tournament at Powers Field in Cheyenne, Wyo.
Cheyenne had a 2-1 lead after three innings, then took advantage of the Outlaws’ wonky pitching in the the fourth, scoring three times on wild pitches.
The Outlaws mounted a rally in the sixth, scoring three runs, but it barely made a dent in Cheyenne’s lead.
Alex Scarver had a double and an RBI for Kennewick, while Josh Kutzke hit a triple.
Colton Onstott drove in five runs for the Sixers, while Braxton Inniss and Brock Anderson drove in three apiece.

• The Pasco Fury U13 team won both of its pool-play games at the Triple Crown World Series in Steamboat Springs, Colo., beating Hit Club Remix (Thornton, Colo.) 21-3 and North Texas Titans-White of Rockwall 22-5.
The Fury advances to bracket play today, where they are the No. 2 seed.
Against Hit Club Remix, Riley Cissne went 3-for-3, while Logan Mercado was 3-for-4 with a double, Kooper Swentik 2-for-3 with a triple and Daniel Charron 2-for-2 with a double.
Estevan Ruiz went 4-for-4 with a double and a two-run home run against North Texas, while Cissne was 4-for-4 with a double, Preston Close 2-for-2 with a triple and Evan Wagner 3-for-3.
