Jimmy Gifford pitched a complete game, stricking out 12, to lead the Burbank Diamond-backs to a 5-3 win Wednesday over host Benton City for the Senior Babe Ruth league title.
Jyamen Cortez, Paden Kottwitz and Tucker Simonton all had doubles for Burbank (13-3, 20-4 overall), which finished two games up on Benton City (11-5).
The Diamondbacks will have a bye in the first round of the district tournament Friday and will play the winner of Finley and the Kennewick Wolfpack at 6:30 p.m. at the Richland Babe Ruth Complex.
On Tueday night, the Diamondbacks swept the Sunnyside Knights, winning the first game 13-3 in six innings, and the nightcap 19-5 in five innings.
Donovan Percifield struck out nine in picking up the win in the first game, while brother Devin had eight strikeouts in winning the second game.
In the second game, Daniel Percifield added to the family fun, going 3-for-3 with a double, while Gifford went 4-for-4 with a double and four RBIs.

Hanford Flames 7-4, Twin City Titans 3-6: Ryan Colson went the distance on a six-hitter and his catcher, Jake Browne, was 3-for-3 with three RBIs to lead the Flames to the win in the opener of the Central Washington League doubleheader at Waits Field.
Levi Broeske got the complete-game win for the Titans in the nightcap, and Logan Jackson had four hits for Twin City on the day.
