Tyler Dupuis tripled and drove in a pair of runs in the opener and threw six strong innings in the nightcap as the Kennewick Junior Bandits swept Lewis & Clark 11-9 and 7-3 a pair of nonleague American Legion games at Southridge High on Monday.

Ethan Sanders was 3-for-4 with a pair of RBIs in the first game.

Kennewick 11-11, Hanford 4-0: JJ Hancock had six hits, two homers and four RBIs on the day as the Bandits swept the Flames at Roy Johnson Field in a Senior American Legion doubleheader that finished late Sunday night.

Grant Lathim homered and drove in three runs in the first game and plated two more runs in the finale. Conner O’Neil and Addison Spivey combined on a two-hitter in the second game.

Ryan Neal had a double and three RBIs for Hanford in the first game.

The 20th Washington State Women’s Amateur golf tournament tees off today in Federal Way.

Both the women’s amateur and 14th senior women’s amateur will be held at Twin Lakes Golf and Country Club through Thursday.

A pair of former Richland High teammates will be in the field: Kristin Strankman and Hope Neidhold. Strankman just completed her freshman year playing for the University of Idaho, while Neidhold played for Columbia Basin College and finished fourth at the NWAACC championships, earning first-team honors.

Meanwhile, qualifying for the U.S. Senior Open is today on the Rope Rider course at Suncadia Resort in Cle Elum. Some 59 players will compete for two berths into the U.S. Senior Open Championship on July 11-14 at Omaha Country Club in Nebraska.
