ASA 16A Nationals: The Washington Force Black have erased deficits before — they trailed 5-0 in the state tournament before coming back to win 6-5. But when a big deficit came paired with eight errors on defense in an 8-0 loss to Pennsylvania, the chance of a comeback is slim.
Despite Washington’s pool-play loss at the ASA 16A National tournament in Montgomery, Ala., the team is still in good shape at 1-1 and holding the No. 2 seed heading into bracket play today.
“We’re just looking to put this one in the past,” said Washington manager Rob Sitsler. “We were kind of on edge (Tuesday). I don’t know how to describe it.”
Pennsylvania pitcher Paige Decew allowed just two hits in a complete-game win, and Michelle Holwegor went 2-for-3 with a triple to lead the Blue Thunder offense.
