Hanford Junior Flames beat Bellingham at Jr. Legion State tournament

David Juergens singled to score Brady Heid from third base, giving the Hanford Jr. Flames the lead for good in the fifth inning to defeat Bellingham 3-2 in a Junior American Legion state tournament game Monday in Arlington.

Heid finished with two hits for Hanford, while starter Nate Mitchell scattered four hits in the complete-game victory.

Hanford will play Burlington at 6 p.m. today.

Zane Henderson went 2-for-3 with an RBI double in the fifth inning to lead the Bruins, who will face Montesano at 7 p.m. today.
