The Kennewick National team lost the championship game of the Cal Ripken 10U Pacific Northwest Regional Tournament in Eugene, Ore. on Saturday.
KN lost 6-4 to the Willamette Valley All Stars in the final, after defeating Meridian (Idaho) 4-2 in the semifinals earlier in the day.
Trailing 6-0 early, Kobe Dumo hit a two-run single and Joey Duberstein a two-run double, but they couldn’t complete the rally.
Wenatchee AppleSox 7, Walla Walla Sweets 2: Southridge graduate Bryce Jackson picked up the win in relief, as the AppleSox scored seven times in the bottom of the eighth inning to rally.
Jackson pitched two scoreless innings, striking out one.
Cabe Reiten was the hero, hitting a tie-breaking grand slam to put Wenatchee on top 6-2.
