Richland swimmer Lisa Bratton made the women's 200-meter backstroke semifinals Saturday at the U.S. Olympic Trials in Omaha, Neb.
Bratton's heat time of 2 minute, 13.57 seconds placed her 13th overall among 186 finishers. She will swim in Lane 1 in the second eight-person semifinal. Missy Franklin, who clocked the top heat time of 2:08.35 and holds the American record in the event (2:05.10), will be in Lane 4.
Othello graduate Natilee Ruiz was 64th with a time of 2:17.22.
On the men's side, former Richland standout Cody Roberts, now at UNLV, just missed the men's 100 butterfly semifinals. He was 21st in the heats with a time of 54.01 seconds.
