WSU loses linebackers coach Tormey to Wyoming

LARAMIE, Wyo. — The linebackers coach at Washington State University is joining the coaching staff at the University of Wyoming.

The Cowboys announced Wednesday that Chris Tormey has signed a contract to become the team’s defensive coordinator and secondary coach.

Tormey worked at Washington State this year. He also previously served as an assistant coach at the University of Washington and helped guide the Huskies to a national championship in 1991. His 32 year-coaching career also includes nine seasons of head-coaching experience at the University of Idaho and the University of Nevada.

At Wyoming, Tormey is replacing Alex Grinch, who is joining the University of Missouri as a safeties’ coach.
