CORVALLIS, Ore. -- The Corvallis Knights won the West Coast League championship Thursday night, beating the Walla Walla Sweets 11-4 at Corvallis' Goss Stadium.
The Knights opened the best-of-3 series Tuesday with a 14-3 peeling of the Sweets at Borleske Stadium.
Oregon State senior Ryan Gorton led the Knights with four RBIs on three hits.
Kennewick's Andrew Mendenhall, bound for the University of Oregon after a late draft pick of the New York Yankees, hit a two-run homer in the top of the first to provide an early highlight for Walla Walla.
