Explosion reaches 18U softball state quarters

MOSES LAKE -- Courtney Kent went 5-for-5 and the Washington Explosion 18U team swept its way into the quarterfinals at the ASA state tournament Saturday at Larsen Field in Moses Lake.

Lindsey Walchli earned the victory in the opener, a 13-5 win against Yakima Tigers. Paige Goulet picked up the win in the nightcap, a 9-1 affair against the Kent Spartans.

The Explosion will face the Omak Mustangs at 9 a.m. today in the quarterfinals.
