LOS ANGELES -- Ryan Villopoto raced to his second Monster Energy AMA Supercross victory of the season, beating James Stewart in front of 41,107 fans late Saturday night in the first series event at Dodger Stadium.
Villopoto, the Kawasaki rider from Poulsbo, Wash., opened the season two weeks ago with a victory in Anaheim and finished second behind Yamaha star Stewart last week in Phoenix.
"It was really slippery out there tonight," Villoppoto said. "The start of my race didn't go as planned, but I was able to make up some time early on and things went my way."
Villopoto took the lead on Lap 11 when Stewart crashed.

Earlier, Honda's Cole Seeley, from Corona, Calif., raced to his first Western Regional Supercross Lites victory, leading wire-to-wire.
"This week I worked hard on starts and it paid off tonight," Seeley. "That makes a big difference in the way the race unfolds when you are out front. This is the first win of my career and it feels great."
