* 2009 -- Drydn Dow scored two goals, and Drew Owsley had 25 saves as the Tri-City Americans defeated the Kamloops Blazers 8-3 in Western Hockey League play.

* 2001 -- McKenzie Burgess had 22 kills, six blocks and nine digs as Kiona-Benton defeated Grandview 2-1 to win the CWAC district volleyball title and earn the No. 1 seed to the state tournament the next week.

* 1994 -- Alphonso Ford worked out at point guard as the Tri-City Chinook opened its veterans camp session at the Tri-City Court Club for the upcoming Continental Basketball Association season. Chinook coach Calvin Duncan had 14 players in camp battling for 10 roster spots. Eight of those players played for Duncan the previous season. Ford had been cut by the NBA's Los Angeles Clippers two weeks before the Chinook camp opened.
