* 1969 -- Kennewick quarterback Kirk Thomas scored on a 10-yard second-quarter run and Greg Rose added a 32-yard TD scamper in the third as the Lions blanked visiting Eisenhower 14-0 to pull into a three-way tie for first place in the Big Eight at 4-1.

* 1980 -- Kent Kafentzis scored rushing touchdowns of 13 and 10 yards and also hauled in a 27-yard TD pass from Joey Neidhold as Richland clinched a berth in the AAA state playoffs with a 49-19 win over Kamiakin in Kennewick.

* 1990 -- The Tri-City Americans traded a pair of defenseman -- Devin Derksen, 19, and penalty king Trevor Renkers, 18 -- to the Regina Pats for 17-year-old forward Cory Dosdall, who scored 148 points for the Ams over the next three seasons.

* 2000 -- Allison Holsten broke her own Columbia Basin College mark, recording 32 kills in a 12-15, 12-15, 15-4, 15-6, 15-11 win at Community Colleges of Spokane. Holsten added 21 digs and eight blocks as the Hawks improved to 31-1.
