CARACAS, Venezuela -- Richland's Natalie Leyland was 1-for-3 while batting second in the lineup and playing left field for Great Britain in a 3-0 win over South Africa at the World Softball Championships in Caracas, Venezuela, on Thursday.
Leyland came in for defensive purposes in left field for Great Britain in a 5-4 loss to the Netherlands.
Natasha Watley's RBI single in the top of the seventh inning helped the United States to a 1-0 victory over China in both teams' opener.
