A six-run lead after three innings proved too much for the Tri-City Dust Devils to overcome Monday, losing 9-5 to the host Spokane Indians in Northwest League baseball at Avista Stadium.
Kodie Tidwell homered as the Dust Devils (6-6 second half) scored two runs in the eighth and added one more in the ninth.
But a four-run second inning for Spokane (5-7) took much of the drama from the game.
Tyler Sanchez and Leon Byrd hit back-to-back RBI doubles for the Indians to spur the spree. A two-out double by LeDarious Clark scored the fourth run and ended the night for Dust Devils starter Brett Kennedy (0-2).
