The Tri-City Dust Devils haven’t had much success at home lately, but they are finding Boise’s Memorial Stadium quite to their liking.
The Dust Devils won their fourth consecutive Northwest League road game against Boise, beating the Hawks 3-1 in 10 innings after Mike Tauchman singled with two outs in the top of the 10th to bring home pinch runner Marcos Derkes and Kyle Von Tungeln.
Tri-City (10-14) is seven games behind North Division leader Everett (17-7) with 14 games left in the first half. The Dust Devils will finish off their five-game series in Boise before heading taking a day off Monday. They’ll begin a five-game series against Hillsboro beginning 7:15 p.m. Tuesday at Gesa Stadium.
Ryan Warner enjoyed his finest start of the year, giving up just one run on six hits over eight innings before Shane Broyles came on for a scoreless inning of relief. Broyles (1-0) picked up the win before Bruce Kern shut down Boise in the bottom of the 10th to earn his first save of the year.
Tauchman was one of three Tri-City players with two hits, including Ben Waldrip and Ashley Graeter.
