The Tri-City Dust Devils lost 4-2 to the Yakima Bears in the first of a three-game series Thursday in a Northwest League baseball matchup at Yakima County Stadium.
Yakima came right out of the gate with three runs in the bottom of the first.
Joseph Loftus hit a double to score Josh Parr and Shaun Cooper and deliver Jacob House to third.
And House followed the play with a scoring run on Mark Ginther’s sacrifice fly into the glove of centerfielder Charlie Blackmon.
Parr hit a leadoff home run to left field in the fifth for Yakima, and the Dust Devils answered back in the sixth with two runs: Zach Osorne scored on a Matt Argyropoulos single and Derek Jones arrived home on a wild pitch from Enrique Burgos to Miguel De Leon.
The two teams meet again in Yakima at 7:05 p.m. today.
